How to merge Contact Cards

This article explains how to merge two Contact Cards in a Contact profile. 

In the screenshot below, in the menu Contacts > My Contacts, the Contact profile of Andraz Razen has two Contact Cards: one at “Capital Research & Management Co. (World Investors)” and one at “Capital International Ltd.”:The Contact profile shows two Contact Cards for two different companies

 

To merge the two Contacts Cards, do the following steps:

  1. In the top-right corner of the Contact Cards section, click on the button Manage Contact, then select Merge Contact Cards:Click on the "Manage Contact" button in the top-right corner of the Contact Cards section, then select "Merge Contact Cards" to begin the merge process
  2. The Merge Contact Cards popup window appears.

    You have to select a value for both options Contact Card 1 and Contact Card 2.   3. Select an Organization for Contact Card 1 and another one for Contact Card 2, and check which one must be the preferred Contact Card by selecting the option Make this the preferred Contact Card:The "Make this the preferred Contact Card" option in the "Merge Contact Cards" popup window for selecting the primary Contact Card
  4. When all options are selected, click on the button Merge Cards.
  5.  An alert message appears on screen informing confirmation to merge, because this action is irreversible. Click on the button Confirm to merge:An alert message confirming the merge action, requiring confirmation due to its irreversible nature
  6. After merging the two Contact Cards, there is only one Contact Card visible in the Contact profile. An alert message appears on screen confirming you have successfully merged the Contact Cards:

    Note:
    When you merge two Contact Cards in a Contact profile, no information is lost but rather consolidated in one single Contact Card. You still have the button Edit Contact Details if you need to update the Contact Card:
